Question Time Report

July's event saw Castleford Tigers Supporters Club invite a guest panel from The Tigers and from other club's in the area. With the help of one of our sponsors, GMB Sports Section, the panel included players from Leeds Rhinos, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and our near neighbours Featherstone Rovers.

Brent Sherwin, Mitchell Sargent and Brett Ferres were joined by Stuart Dickens (Featherstone), Damien Blanch (Wakefield) and Rob Burrow (Leeds Rhinos). Player of the Month Rangi Chase also joined the panel for the second half of the evening.

The panel fielded questions on a range of Rugby League topics including their views on 'Magic Weekend', 'The International Game', 'The Top 8' and 'Stars of the Future'. There was even a question about 'The Ashes'.

Among the guests were GMB official Geoff Burrow and colleague Eric Hawley, who over a number of years was one of the top RL scouts working for the likes of Wigan and Bradford.

Geoff opened up proceedings to give information of some of the initiatives GMB are introducing. As the Union looking after the 'Rugby League Players Association', GMB are urging fans to join the 'Sports Section' to enable supporters of 'The Greatest Game' to have a voice when the hold meetings with the RFL. They have also launched the successful 'Conversion For Learning' which is helping players gain qualifications to help them after their RL careers end.

CTSC members can now join GMB Sports Section and raise funds for the Supporters Club. Further information to follow
