Cast your minds back......... It's 1986 and the town of Castleford has seen a number of dark years with job losses and the closure of the mining industry but May 3rd 1986 is a day where a smile was put on the towns face as Malcolm Reilly's Castleford side defeated Hull KR to win the Rugby League Challenge Cup at Wembley Stadium. Well in excess of 80000 people were in the stadium to witness tries for Tony Marchant, Bob Beardmore (Lance Todd Trophy Winner) and Jamie Sandy take Cas to their 1st Wembley win since the days of Hardisty & Hepworth and the 1969 & 1970 triumphs. To mark the 25th anniversary of that fantastic day, Castleford Tigers Supporters Club are hosting a celebration night at The Loft, Xscape featuring a re-run of the final on the 'big screen' with stars from the final in attendance. The event will take place on Tuesday May 3rd with a 7:45pm start CTSC are already in contact with a number of the 'lads' and would appreciate help contacting other members of the squad so that we can get as many of the team there as possible on the night.
