Warrington Away

Cas rounded off their Easter fixtures with a resounding victory at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, bouncing back from the Good Friday home defeat by Wakefield to beat Warrington 28-6 in front of 8202.

WIth Ryan McGoldrick still suspended, Richard Owen continued at full back whilst Brett Ferres came back into the Tigers pack with Nathan MAssey missing out. There was also a late call up for James Ford who earned a place on the bench.

Warrington were without Lee Briers as they looked to bounce back from a defeat at Salford on Good Friday but were still able to field the likes of Adrian Morley, Mickey Higham, Ben Westwood and big name Aussies; Matt King, Chris Hicks and Michael Monaghan.

Wakefield Home

The Tigers started their Easter games in disappointing fashion suffering a heavy, Good Friday, defeat at the hands of local rivals Wakefield Wildcats in front of a packed house at The Jungle.

In front of a crowd of over 10,000 Terry Matterson's men saved their worst performance of the season allowing the Wildcats' fans to hold local bragging rights.

With Ryan McGoldrick starting a 2 match ban Richard Owen was switched to full back with Michael Wainwright taking Owen's wing spot. Skipper Ryan Hudson was recalled but hard working 2nd row pair Brett Ferres and Stuart Jones were still missing meaning Craig Huby starting in the back 3 with Soine Faumuina and Joe Westerman whilst Nathan Massey started at prop.

Keighley Away - Challenge Cup

The Tigers coasted into the draw for the 5th round of the Challenge Cup with an 11 try display at Cougar Park. Stand off Rangi Chase crossed for a 2nd half hat trick whilst in-form winger Kirk Dixon helped himself to a 24 point haul with a try and 10 goals.

Terry Matterson used the game as an opportunity to rest one or two of his 1st team regulars giving fring players, Ryan Boyle, Nathan Massey and James Ford rare chances with all 3 acquitting themselves well. Boyle and Massey worked hard throughout whilst Ford did well to grab a try on debut and in doing so became the 900th player in the club's history to make the 1st team.

Bradford Home

For the second week running Castleford Tigers snatched a late victory in dramatic style, in front of a crowd of 9158 at The Jungle, by 28 points to 26.

With little over 10 minutes remaining on the clock Bulls sub Dave Halley went in at the corner for an unconverted try to extend their lead to 16 points. It looked like this would be the game clincher but the Tigers have great spirit and they dug deep into their resolve to blast back with 3 tries in 8 minutes all converted by Kirk Dixon take the spoils.

Coach Terry Matterson was forced to make changes from the win at Hull a week earlier with Liam Higgins (injured), James Evans and Stuart Jones (both virus) missing out with Michael Wainwright coming in on the wing whilst Nathan Massey and Dean Widders made the bench. Joe Westerman was back in the starting line-up along with Craig Huby who swapped places with Chris Feather.

Hull FC Away

The Tigers bounced back from last weeks defeat in some style with an impressive victory over the previously unbeaten Hull FC at the KC Stadium with birthday boy Brent Sherwin snatching the points with a 77th minute drop goal.

Terry Matterson made a couple of changes with Rangi Chase coming in to the starting line-up to partner Sherwin in the halves with Sione Faumuina moving in to the pack. Chris Feather also started with Craig Huby and Joe Westerman dropping back to the bench, where Liam Higgins earned a recall  at the expense of Dean Widders.

Cas kicked off and were behind after Hull's first set of six when a high kick by Chris Thorman caused a misunderstanding between Ryan McGoldrick and Kirk Dixon which saw Richard Horne pounce to score a try that Danny Tickle converted to give the home side an early advantage.
