Below is a review of 2015,
A very warm welcome to everyone and thanks for attending tonight's meeting. Another very
eventful and enjoyable year.
We managed to get sponsors for all our 2015 events, the impact on moving to the Tiger bar
was felt by decreased membership of about 150 and decreased revenue on the guess the
score competition, which we will not be doing this season.
Our events in the WSTS suite and other venues have been well attended and feedback from
attendees has been good. Club directors, coaches and players have supported us
tremendously and we thank them all for that.
We have continued our great relationship with Daryl and the team, something the CTSC and
Daryl know is beneficial to both us and the club. We never forget the past and forged a
good relationship with the Castleford players Association and have at least 1 event where
we invite ex players.
Our event highlights were the POTY awards, the Anniversary dinner, a record breaking Race
night and 2 social events at the Glassblower which were well attended.
Once again we have consulted with Daryl on ideas for our donations to maximize the
benefit to all players in all age groups, this is something with your agreement we want to
Other achievements this year
Barbara Hughes and myself spoke in favour of the 5 Towns Park planning application at
Wakefield County Hall in February, many other CTSC members attended that day. We were
rewarded with full planning permission in September.
The CTSC committee also attended Supporters direct meetings in Huddersfield and Hunslet,
talking to other teams fans and promoting the club, members of the CTSC also attended the
Wales v Keighley game in aid of the Danny Jones Fund and donated a England shirt at a RL
fans event at Hunslet.
Our social media sites on Facebook as 6100 members, twitter 2100 followers both continue
to grow along with our new website. Our goal is to convert these followers to members, but
even if we cannot we believe that it is great promotion for the club. We now moderate
what is posted on facebook due to inappropriate postings and language.
We have a good relationship with the media, especially the Pontefract and Castleford
express, who give us excellent coverage.I would also like to thank Michelle Cooper the
Tigers Media And Marketing Manager whose support as been tremendous.
The future, we are well on the way to getting sponsors for our 2016 events, with other
sponsorship opportunities for the Race night, POTY night and our November dinner dance.
Please see the committee for details. Our 2016 events have already been
published and we hope you can attend as many as you can.
Also we are securing benefits for CTSC members, details out soon.We continue to base
ourselves in the Tiger Bar, 1 hour before kick off, selling 2016 memberships,
please come and see us for a pre or after match chat.
This year for the first time we set up a PayPal account so people can join us and get the
membership card posted to them, ideal for long distance fans of which we have quite a
few, members have joined us from Australia, Scotland and London.
On your behalf, I would like to thank the Vicki Ellis who is not seeking re-election to the
committee,Thank you for your time and effort.
Also a big thanks to Tracey Corbett who helps us at our events, Stuart Lake who produces
our fantastic posters and helps us with the website, thanks.
I would like to thank fellow members of the committee, who worked very hard in 2015.
The donations made to Castleford Tigers since 2004 now stands at £67,147.58
I would like to thank all the members and sponsors for the loyal support you all gave us in
Lastly, I would like to say a few words about the passing of Jack and Bridie Fulton,
Jack and Bridie were supporters of our great club, the financial support in good and bad
times gave us the fans the opportunity to follow the Tigers, which Jack and Bridie knew
meant so much to so many people. Without the Fulton families commitment the very
existence of the club would have been in severe danger.
We had the great pleasure of meeting Jack in the last 10 years at our annual 'Meet the
directors' events, he always listened but let other directors do the talking, the one thing
that we did know from the meetings, was that Jack and his family cared intensely for the
It is very fitting that Jack got to lead the team out at Wembley in 2014 and the CTSC thank
Jack and Bridie for everything they did.
Here's to 2016, thank you for your continued support.
